Nemacolin Woodlands has renovated townhomes that pay homage to former president George Washington.
In the summer of 1754, Washington explored this area of Pennsylvania and traveled along what is now U.S. Route 40—the same road that is in front of Nemacolin, to fight at Fort Necessity.
The decor of these townhomes reflect the colonial history and heritage of the Laurel Highlands and celebrate the roles of Washington, British Major General Edward Braddock and Chief Nemacolin. The profiles of all three of these men are in the custom wallpaper found in each unit.
