It’s not hard to spot the Buccaneer, a pretty pink building that rises above the blue waters of St. Croix. It’s a knockout property with a serious dose of history to boot. The resort dates to 1653 when Charles Martel, a Knight of Malta, built a manor house with a tobacco and indigo plantation on the present-day site.
